Dog food prepared with FSG

What ist FSG (Fleischsaftgarung)?

FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) is a method of preparing fresh meat. It originated in the kitchen, not in the feed industry. It was modelled on techniques that top chefs often use to make meat tastier and also healthier.

FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) means that fresh meat is cooked in a vacuum at a low temperature. After a short cooking time, our wet food is created and after a long cooking time in which the moisture of the meat juice is slowly reduced, our dry food is created. With FSG (Fleischsaftgarung), no water or broth is added, the meat cooks only in its own meat juices. This is a nutrient-rich liquid that contains protein, creatine and iron.
Our dry food is not a dehydrated food because it contains a residual moisture from the concentrated meat juice, which makes it chewy-soft. Dry food prepared with FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) does not swell and does not contain meat meal.

What makes FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) so special? With FSG (Fleischsaftgarung), the meat is cooked under vacuum and all the natural flavours of the meat, its vitamins and nutrients, are completely preserved. The low temperature during FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) also preserves the positive properties of the vitamins and nutrients. Therefore, dog food prepared with FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) is much tastier and healthier.

With FSG (Fleischsaftgarung), dog food is raised to the level of high-quality human food. Because today the dog is firmly part of the family and no longer part of the wolf pack. No one wants to put a family member or a best friend in a worse position, so the dog gets food of equal quality.

FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) for canine health protection

In a world full of advertising slogans, it’s pretty hard to tell the good from the bad.
This is also why we have decided to commission TÜV SÜD ELAB (now ELAB Analytik GmbH) to regularly and independently test our dog food prepared with FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) and to publish all test parameters online for everyone to see.

The test parameters are formulated as questions:

Are the dry food, wet food and snacks prepared with FSG genuinely made with the advertised amount of fresh meat?

  • Yes, this was confirmed by the regular and independent test.

Are the declarations on the packaging correct?

  • Yes, this was confirmed by the regular and independent test.

Are the dry food, wet food and snacks prepared with FSG safe with regard to harmful substances such as germs, bacteria (Enterobacteriaceae, E. coli, presumptive Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella and others), yeasts/moulds as well as heavy metals and mycotoxins?

  • Yes, this was confirmed by the regular and independent test.

Dogs’ bodies have been designed for fresh meat, as can be clearly seen in their canine teeth (1) and carnassial teeth (2). And of course fresh meat would not be fresh without the nutritious meat juice.

FSG (Fleischsaftgarung) for a healthy quality of life

How do you feel? The answer to this question is actually based on your subjective perception of health. In humans, as in dogs, this consists of elements such as physical well-being, mental state and social situation. How does your dog feel when you close the door in front of it? Physically healthy, but...

The domestic dog’s origins date back about 15,000 years. Today, dogs love being in the forest, but it is certainly not an alternative way of life for them. The family has completely replaced the pack. Formerly, a dog’s perceived health was determined by its position in the pack’s hierarchy. Today, it is its position within the family. Consequently, dogs should not feel worse off in any area of life than the other members of the family or their caregiver.
